Roberta Deakins

The Weirton United Methodist Charge secretary is Roberta Deakins. She grew up in Colliers, WV, then moved out of the area for many years. After her husband passed away, she returned home in 2018 with her daughter. She currently resides in Weirton with her daughter, dogs, cat and two guinea pigs.

While living in Florida, Roberta was a member of Springhead United Methodist Church and attended Florida Southern College where she graduated with a BA in English. From Florida, she moved to New York where she worked for ABC, Inc./The Walt Disney Company for 14 years. Twelve of those years she was an administrative assistant in the Business and Legal Affairs Department.

Roberta took a leap of faith when she returned to West Virginia, but trusted that God would lead her in the right direction. And in October 2019, Roberta answered the ad for a secretary at the Weirton United Methodist Charge.
